Zoom introduces a new standalone app for Meta Quest users that allows you to conduct meetings in virtual reality as a Meta avatar.
Meta Quest users can now download the Zoom app for a fully virtual meeting experience. The app, available in the Meta Horizon Store, enables users to host or join Zoom meetings from their VR headset using their existing Zoom account.
Zoom in virtual reality
The Zoom app for Meta Quest is designed to be a seamless continuation of the Zoom Workplace app that users already know on their mobile devices or desktop. The app offers full immersion for meetings, making it easier to focus on the conversation. Additionally, there is a Passthrough mode that allows users to continue seeing their physical environment.
Participants in a Zoom meeting appear as avatars for Meta Quest users, while other participants are visible via video, regardless of whether they use Zoom on desktop, mobile, or web.
