In a new Windows 11 25H2 update, the Widgets board receives a new design.

Microsoft is giving the Widgets board in Windows 11 a major refresh. The tech giant shares this in a Windows Experience blog post. A completely renewed Discover feed is coming, featuring a modern design, stories curated by Copilot, and a clearer layout.

Fresh Look and New Structure

The new Discover feed looks clearer and less cluttered than before. The widgets have nicely rounded corners and better match the Windows 11 style.

Microsoft also writes about the introduction of multiple dashboards, allowing users to create their own pages with favorite widgets and news feeds. Switching between these dashboards is done via a sidebar on the left, which was previously located at the top center.

Less Clutter, more Overview

The current Widgets experience isn’t without flaws, as many users find the board cluttered and outdated. The new version aims to solve this with a calmer layout and more relevant content. The Copilot widget will play a crucial role in selecting news and stories based on personal preferences.

More Control Desired

Windows Latest has already tested the new design and indicates there are still areas for improvement. “Not all widgets are freely customizable or scalable, and changing sizes still happens through old-fashioned menus instead of simple drag and resize.” Microsoft promises more updates in the coming months to ensure the Widgets experience gets even more personalization options.

The update will be gradually rolled out to all Windows 11 users in the coming weeks.
