In a new update, the “suggested actions” menu will disappear in Windows 11.
Microsoft has announced that the “suggested actions” menu in Windows 11 will soon disappear. First introduced in the Windows 11 2022 update, the menu provided quick suggestions for actions such as scheduling calls or events. The company now considers the feature obsolete.
Alternative to Copilot Plus
“The suggested actions menu that appears when you copy a phone number or date will be removed in a future update to Windows 11,” Microsoft writes in a blog. When copying a phone number, the menu shows apps that allow you to make calls directly. When copying a date, it shows apps to create events.
The menu is probably disappearing because not enough people are using it, or because the new Click To Do-feature does much the same thing, but using artificial intelligence (AI). That feature is exclusive to Copilot+ PCs, reports Windows Central. Windows 11 users without a Copilot+ PC will not be presented with an alternative.
Although Microsoft is removing features, many new features continue to be added. For example, the recent 24H2 update introduced several improvements, despite some technical problems during the rollout. When this update will become generally available is not yet known.
