Meta is launching an open variant of the “generate a podcast” feature in Google’s NotebookLM. Not surprisingly, NotebookLlama is based on Meta’s Llama models. The project is similar to the feature in Google’s NotebookLM, where the model can generate a podcast based on text files. NotebookLlama is open source, meaning developers can get started with it.
Alternative Google’s NotebookLM
Recently, Google released a new feature in NotebookLM that allows users to generate podcasts based on various documents, videos, audio and links. Now, rather quietly, Meta is launching an open variant of Google’s NotebookLM, namely NotebookLlama. This, like Google’s NotebookLM, allows users to create podcast-like audio files.
On GitHub, developers can find the roadmap to create a podcast based on a pdf file. Currently, Meta uses one model to write the podcast sketch. According to Meta researchers, the quality could be improved with stronger models.
