Google aims to increase productivity in Workspace by adding AI and analytics functions.
After Pixel and Android, Google Workspace now also gets its own “Feature Drops”. With these updates, new functions are bundled around a central theme. The first version focuses on research and analysis, Google writes in a blog.
AI Insights in Google Sheets
Google Sheets receives new AI analysis tools, including automatically generated charts and insights. Thanks to Gemini, users can:
- Generate Python code for data visualizations.
- Identify trends and patterns between different variables.
- Perform predictive analyses, such as revenue projections and detecting inventory shortages.
According to Google, Sheets now also works faster: pasting data would be 50 percent faster, setting filters should also be up to 50 percent quicker, and loading data 30 percent more efficient.
More AI Tools Within Workspace
Besides Sheets, Gemini Deep Research is being rolled out in Workspace. Users can perform in-depth, multi-step analyses with it. NotebookLM is now also available within Workspace, as well as the more extensive NotebookLMPlus.
