The document scanner in Google Drive gets the ability to capture the document as clearly as possible, without having to manually edit the photo.
Google has begun rolling out Enhance in Google Drive’s document scanner, it writes in a blog. After capturing the photo, users can tap the icon and then “actions such as white balance correction, shadow removal, contrast enhancement, automatic sharpening, light enhancement and more will be performed.”
Fully automatic editing
Google gave its document scanner an updated design last year. The improvements included a custom camera that automatically captures documents in photos, and new photo editing tools. Those tools include cropping and rotation, applying filters and removing blemishes such as marks from the document.
Google Drive also gained the ability to sign documents and lock Google Drive files last year.
The idea is that the user no longer has to edit the photo himself. Enhance works with accounts, documents, IDs, and more. The feature will become available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with a personal Google account in the coming weeks.
