Google is bringing AI mode to Belgium and the Netherlands, along with many other European countries. The AI feature appears as a separate tab and helps users with complex queries.
Google is adding more AI to Search in Belgium, the Netherlands, and other countries with the AI mode. This feature was already available in English, but is now rolling out in 36 new languages. AI mode is different from AI Overviews, which has been visible in Google Search for several months. AI Overviews provides a summary of all search results, while AI mode lets users have a conversation in a separate tab.
AI Mode in Belgium
Google’s AI mode already existed in English, but the company is now expanding it to 36 new languages. This will make AI mode available in nearly 50 new countries, including Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as many other European countries.
AI mode appears in Google Search next to the ‘All’ tab in the top left. You’ll then land on a separate tab where you can conduct a conversation. For this AI feature, Google uses its Gemini 2.5 model.

How to Filter AI Search Results from Google
AI mode answers “your most complex, multi-part questions and follow-ups in Search,” Google said in a blog post. According to the company, AI mode is not intended to fully replace Google Search. It’s meant to help with more complex questions. For simple queries, such as a company’s opening hours, users can still rely on the classic Google search engine.
At the time of writing, the following message appears on the page: “AI mode is currently not available on your device or account.” The rollout started today, October 8. It may take some time before it becomes visible to all users.
