Google is giving users with a Gemini subscription access to Gemini 2.0 Advanced. The most advanced Gemini model to date is better at math, coding and reasoning.
Following the announcement of Gemini 2.0 Flash a week ago, Google is further expanding the family. Google is giving Gemini subscribers access to Gemini 2.0 Advanced, officially named Gemini-Exp-1206. 9to5Google noted the latest model in the list of available Gemini models.
Gemini 2.0 Advanced is supposed to be the most advanced model to date that Google has released under the Gemini banner. Google promises “significantly improved performance on complex tasks such as coding, math, reasoning and instruction following. For example, the model can help you create a detailed business plan.
The word “experimental” indicates that the model is not quite on point yet. The model does not yet have access to real-time information and is not compatible with some other Gemini features, Google indicates.
Along with the hype
Google introduced Gemini 2.0 Flash a week ago, which rolled out the red carpet for the Advanced version. This model offers lower latency and improved performance over the Gemini 1.5 models. A new addition is multimodal output capability, which allows Gemini to combine text, image and audio, among other things. With Gemini 2.0, Google is also jumping on the AI agent hypetrain.
