Auto-framing in Google Meet now available to all

Google Meet’s auto-framing feature, which automatically puts you in central view during a meeting, is now available to everyone.

In 2022, Google launched the auto-framing tool in Google Meet that makes you more visible during a meeting. The feature was previously only available to certain Workspace customers, but two years from now, Google is rolling it out broadly to all users. In addition, the company is also bringing improvements to the virtual background experience, so that even with a background you will be centrally visible.

Auto-framing for all

When you are out of central focus during an online meeting, Google solves this with the auto-framing feature, which automatically zooms in on you. This happens only once, so there can be no distractions during the online conversation. This feature is enabled by default.

Google Measures auto-framing

In addition, Google is also improving the virtual background experience. Google now ensures that you are now continuously in the center of the picture, even with a virtual background. This reduces distractions, according to Google, since your background is not continuously reframed.
