Microsoft customers are exposed to more than 600 million cyber attacks daily, according to the Microsoft Digital Defense report 2024. Such attacks range from ransomware, phishing to other identity thefts. Most of these attacks rely on passwords. Moreover, Microsoft also sheds light on the role of AI and state actors in the changing threat landscape.

600 million cyberattacks

Cybercriminals increasingly have more and better tools to carry out their attacks, among which AI also plays an important role. Microsoft shared striking figures in its 2024 Digital Defense report. For example, Microsoft customers are said to be exposed to more than 600 million cyber attacks every day, ranging from ransomware to phishing. In addition, more than 99 percent of these attacks are password-based. This again demonstrates the importance of a reliable password manager.
