Intel fiercely criticizes AMD and Nvidia in new security report

Intel has criticized competitors AMD and Nvidia in its new security report.

According to a new security report from Intel, AMD would have four times as many vulnerabilities in firmware, while Nvidia would only have very serious security problems.

Striking move

In the report, Intel first describes its own performance. The company claims that 96 percent of newly discovered vulnerabilities have been identified and that all hardware vulnerabilities have been detected by its own teams. Then comes the criticism. AMD, according to Intel, would have 4.4 times more firmware vulnerabilities in its hardware and 1.8 times more in their confidential computing technologies. In turn, Nvidia would only have very serious GPU vulnerabilities.

According to Intel, AMD has 78 vulnerabilities for which no fix is planned. In addition, only 57 percent of AMD’s platform vulnerabilities would have been discovered by the company itself. Intel itself claims to be superior in terms of GPUs. There would be only 10 reported vulnerabilities, only one of which is categorized as “very serious. Nvidia is said to have 18 serious security issues.

It is a striking move by Intel to criticize, given that AMD is currently gaining ground and Intel has had disappointing financial results recently.
