Commvault Integrates BeyondTrust for Data Access Control

commvault

Commvault and BeyondTrust are joining forces to better secure privileged access within data, backup, and recovery systems through a new integration.

Commvault and BeyondTrust have announced an integration between their respective platforms. The collaboration combines Commvault Cloud with BeyondTrust Password Safe. With this, both companies want to help customers better control access to sensitive systems and data. The focus is on managing human and non-human identities, such as applications and scripts.

The integration should help organizations improve their cyber resilience. Specifically, the link offers centralized management of access data, just-in-time access, and improved auditing capabilities. Temporary access is automatically revoked after completing a task. This limits the risk of credential abuse. The solution supports important standards and concepts, such as the principle of least privilege.

Resilience

According to both parties, the collaboration addresses a growing challenge. Organizations are managing more and more identities, both of people and machines. Each of these identities can be an entry point for cybercriminals. By managing privileged access more precisely, Commvault and BeyondTrust want to prevent credentials from being misused in cyberattacks.

According to both companies, access management is essential for a broader cyber resilience strategy. Commvault Cloud brings together data protection, threat detection, and recovery capabilities in one platform. By adding Password Safe, customers can now also better control access to their backup and recovery environments.

The integration is available worldwide at no extra cost to existing customers of both solutions.
