Check Point is launching the Quantum Firewall Software R82. That includes AI engines and post-quantum encryption offers to prevent threats such as zero-day malware and phishing.
Check Point Software Technologies has announced the Quantum Firewall Software R82. That software integrates more than 50 new features, including four AI engines that better identify and block zero-day attacks, according to Check Point.
These engines analyze hidden patterns and links. In doing so, the tool should stop more than 500,000 additional attacks per month, according to the announcement. In addition, R82 supports post-quantum cryptography, based on Kyber: a quantum-safe encryption standard approved by NIST.
Scalability
The software was still being developed with operational simplicity and scalability in mind. Data centers would benefit from faster management through firewall virtualization, which should speed up provisioning of virtual systems by up to three times. ElasticXL technology makes it possible to absorb spikes in network traffic and scale with growing business environments.

R82 is part of Check Point’s broader Infinity Platform. This platform offers, among other things, the AI Copilot, an assistant that automates security management, and GenAI Protect, a solution for secure adoption of generative AI. In addition, with External Risk Management, the platform provides real-time threat prevention and continuous monitoring.
