In response to Tweakers’ news report, a bpost spokesperson confirms that a cyber incident has occurred. The company states that a data breach took place involving “personal and business information of a small number of department customers”.

“Indeed, a cyber incident occurred at bpost, specifically within a particular department (not linked to letters or parcels) that operates via an exchange platform managed by a supplier,” according to bpost.

The company emphasizes that it immediately took measures to contain the data breach. “Our security teams have implemented corrective processes to prevent further impact. We are working with cyber experts who are leading the investigation. Additionally, we have informed the relevant authorities and are fully cooperating with them. The affected customers will be informed in a timely manner”.
