The new mobile offering would make Mega “one of the cheapest providers in the Belgian market”.
Energy and telecom provider Mega is expanding its mobile telephony offering with more data, 5G, and bundle discounts for energy customers. At the same time, Nicolas Brissaud has been appointed as the new Managing Director for the telecom division.
More Data and 5g in New Offering
Mega is adjusting its mobile subscriptions. Each subscription now includes more mobile data, support for 5G with speeds up to 1 Gbps, and unlimited calls and texting, with the exception of the basic package. The changes are part of a broader plan to offer customers simpler and more cost-effective telecom services.
A notable element in the renewed offering is the combination of telecom and energy. Customers who purchase both services from Mega receive up to 12 euros discount per month. That’s a 3 euro discount per mobile subscription, with a maximum of four subscriptions per family. With this, Mega is explicitly targeting families who want to combine telecom and energy on a single bill.
According to Mega itself, this bundling strategy makes the company one of the cheapest providers in the Belgian market, especially for customers who already purchase energy from them.
New Leadership for Telecom Activities
Along with the renewed offering, Mega is appointing a new person responsible for its telecom activities. Nicolas Brissaud takes on the role of Managing Director. Brissaud previously worked for companies including Digi, Capgemini Invent, Eltrona, and VOO, and according to Mega, brings extensive experience in the telecom sector.
In addition to expanding the offering and appointing Brissaud, Mega is also introducing a renewed website. This is intended to improve the digital experience for customers, including clearer navigation and better conversion opportunities. Mega operates as an energy supplier and telecom provider in Belgium and the Netherlands, and currently has around 500,000 customers.
