VMware launches Tanzu Data Intelligence and Tanzu Platform 10.3. The innovations aim to help customers build AI apps faster with real-time data and better control.

At VMware Explore in Las Vegas, Broadcom expands the VMware Tanzu portfolio with a new data solution: Tanzu Data Intelligence. This platform extension aims to make it easier for companies to develop GenAI applications based on real-time data. Additionally, Broadcom launches Tanzu Platform 10.3, with additional features for AI management, application modernization, and security.

Tanzu Lakehouse

Tanzu Data Intelligence is a data lakehouse that makes multimodal data available for generative AI applications. The platform provides access to structured and unstructured data with low latency. The solution is scalable from terabytes to petabytes, according to Broadcom.

The data lakehouse supports vector search at scale. This should make it possible to feed GenAI models with diverse data sources through a single access point.

Tanzu Data Intelligence integrates with the broader Tanzu Platform and provides workflow orchestration, federated queries, elastic container compute, and real-time data services. This combination aims to help developers and AI teams build AI applications, with attention to management and visibility. The solution is specifically targeted at private cloud environments built on VMware Cloud Foundation.

Tanzu Platform 10.3

At Explore 2025, Broadcom is also working on the VMware Tanzu Platform itself. It’s being upgraded to version 10.3. This update offers new features for service publishing in the Tanzu Marketplace, granular AI model management, and tools for automated modernization of existing applications.

A new built-in vulnerability dashboard in Tanzu Hub helps organizations detect and address risks within applications and platform components more quickly. VMware expands observability around data-intensive workloads with ready-to-use dashboards.

Finally, VMware is making an AI Starter Kit available for development teams. This kit contains scripts, tools, and guides to quickly set up AI services within Tanzu Platform, including support for companies still running older versions of the platform.
