Proxmox Receives SLA and Server Support from Fujitsu Subsidiary

Fsas Technologies from Fujitsu and Proxmox jointly introduce a virtualization solution. It combines Proxmox Virtual Environment with PRIMERGY servers and is supported by professional services from Fsas Technologies.

Fsas Technologies, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fujitsu, will market Proxmox. Proxmox is an open-source virtualization solution that can offer an alternative to Broadcom’s VMware suite.

Despite the search for such an alternative, widespread adoption of Proxmox remains limited: the solution lacks some functionality and support tailored for professional use, even though the developer claims it is enterprise-ready. Proxmox is becoming increasingly mature, partly thanks to the recent introduction of a management dashboard for large environments.

Proxmox with SLAs

The partnership with Fsas represents a significant step in the right direction in this regard. The new solution is called Proxmox VE on PRIMERGY. It combines Proxmox’s open-source virtualization platform with Fsas Technologies’ PRIMERGY server line.

The latter offers additional services, including consultancy, implementation, migration, and the crucial SLAs and support. Fsas targets the solution at European companies looking to strengthen their data sovereignty. While Broadcom isn’t mentioned by name, the solution appears to be a direct response to customers’ search for an alternative.

Existing Subscriptions

Fsas Technologies will now distribute official Proxmox subscriptions and serve as the central point of contact for both hardware and software. Customers gain access to specific SLAs and support packages, including unlimited access to the Fsas Service Desk. Support is available through direct sales or via the channel network of distributors and resellers.

Proxmox VE on PRIMERGY will be available through Fsas Technologies and authorized partners from October 2025. Pricing follows Proxmox’s existing enterprise subscription model with Basic, Standard, and Premium tiers, combined with PRIMERGY hardware and optional professional services.

Additional Broadcom Alternative

This move represents an interesting development in the virtualization field. Since Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware, finding an alternative has become an urgent issue for many companies worldwide. Broadcom has artificially bundled its virtualization products and unilaterally modified license terms, resulting in cost increases of up to tenfold. Until now, Nutanix has emerged as the presumed alternative.

Proxmox remained somewhat on the sidelines due to its lack of professional framework. Through the combination with Fsas Technologies and support via SLAs, Proxmox suddenly becomes a realistic choice.
