Salesforce launches AgentExchange. This is a marketplace for AI agents and their components, which is intended to significantly accelerate the adoption of AI within the Salesforce ecosystem.
Salesforce introduces AgentExchange during its developer conference TDX. This is a new platform within Salesforce that allows companies to implement AI agents. The platform expands the capabilities of Agentforce with a marketplace, featuring ready-made AI solutions from more than 200 initial partners.
AgentExchange is integrated into Salesforce and enables companies to quickly deploy AI agents through pre-developed components. The following components are available via the marketplace:
- Actions: Actions expand the tasks that agents can perform with Agentforce by adding new integrations, ranging from Apex, flows, APIs, and prompts, to customize functionality.
- Prompt templates: These are pre-written, reusable prompts that enable consistent interactions, helping agents gather information, assist users, and achieve specific goals.
- Topics: Focus and refine agent behavior by grouping actions and instructions around a single task or assignment. This helps ensure agents deliver consistent results and stay within boundaries.
- Agent templates: These are more comprehensive AI solutions that combine actions, topics, and prompts. They are created by partners and equipped with metadata and general instructions that run across topics.
According to Salesforce, organizations can quickly achieve more efficiency with these building blocks by automating repetitive tasks.
Integration and Partners
The marketplace launches with hundreds of pre-approved solutions that meet security and customer review standards. Companies can deploy AI agents for various applications, such as document processing, HR automation, and data processing. Partners like Google Cloud, Box, Docusign, and Workday have already developed solutions that are directly available on AgentExchange.
AgentExchange offers integrated AI functionalities for Salesforce and Slack as standard. This allows users, for example, to create cases, cancel orders, or send messages via Slack using AI agents. Additionally, companies can implement customized solutions specifically tailored to their industry.
Everything AI
Salesforce wants to position itself very actively as an AI specialist. This is not exceptional: almost every software company aspires to the same today. However, Salesforce is strongly focusing on AI and agents, within a framework it calls Agentforce. Under this banner, the company presented a vision of integrated AI-driven functionality on the Salesforce platform during Dreamforce 2024.
Salesforce is such a fan of agents and Agentforce that it already launched version 2.0 just a few months later, although the company then downgraded the version number to a meaningless marketing figure. With AgentExchange, Salesforce is introducing a novelty that can accelerate the adoption of AI-driven functionality within its ecosystem.
