Oracle introduces Fusion Agentic Applications: autonomous AI agents that independently make decisions within business processes. The solution is designed to help organizations achieve faster results and relieve human employees of routine tasks.

During Oracle AI World in London, the cloud provider announced Fusion Agentic Applications. The platform transforms traditional software into a system capable of reasoning, deciding, and taking action on its own. This is intended to help organizations achieve results more quickly and relieve human employees of administrative tasks.

The new applications utilize specialized AI agents that operate within existing Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications operations. These agents can make and execute decisions based on business objectives, while adhering to security, governance, and corporate policies. According to Oracle, these applications will help organizations reach results faster and focus on strategic tasks.

Teams of AI agents

Fusion Agentic Applications consist of teams of AI agents with specific roles and decision-making authorities. These agents perform routine tasks within predetermined security frameworks. Only exceptions, trade-offs, and decisions requiring human judgment are presented to the user.

The applications provide a shared, persistent context across the entire process. This means agents can remember intentions, history, previous decisions, and the current status of the process. As a result, users need to rebuild context less frequently while performing tasks. Additionally, the agents can continuously reason and adapt to changing circumstances, ensuring work always strives toward the desired outcome.

Two teams

At launch, Oracle is making two teams of agents available, targeting various business domains such as finance, HR, supply chain, and customer experience. Examples include a Workforce Operations Agentic Application for HR, which helps reduce payroll issues and accelerate scheduling, and a supply chain agent that lowers production costs, lead times, and compliance risks.

For sales teams, there is an agent that helps identify growth opportunities and lower acquisition costs. For finance departments, a Collectors Workspace Agentic Application accelerates cash flow and reduces days sales outstanding. These applications are designed to help organizations achieve results faster and relieve human employees of routine tasks.

The new applications are supported by the Oracle AI Agent Studio, which allows organizations to build and manage their own agentic applications. This should help organizations create value faster and deploy AI responsibly at scale.
