Google is making Deep Research available to Gemini Advanced users within Workspace. The toolt helps with complex research questions and reports.
Google announced with a brief announcement that it is making Deep Research available through Workspace. Deep Research is a research tool that can help companies conduct deep research. The tool has been available since December in all countries where Google offers the Gemini portfolio.
Currently, Deep Research is only available in English via the web version of Gemini Advanced. Support for the mobile app will follow later. The feature is accessible to paying Google Workspace formulas, including Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, who recently stopped paying extra for access to Gemini features. The rollout may take 15 days, Google said.

Research in minutes
Deep Research enables users to quickly create comprehensive analyses on a variety of topics. The tool collects and analyzes relevant data and presents the findings in a clear report with references to original sources, much faster than even the most talented human researcher could manage. This can help, for example, with market analysis, preparing sales calls or lesson preparation.
Users can enter a research question, after which Deep Research suggests a multi-step plan. This plan can be modified before the tool begins analyzing. Once the research is complete, the report can be exported to Google Docs and shared with colleagues. In addition, users can ask follow-up questions or further refine the report.

Google’s competitors are coming up with their own alternatives. OpenAI has a research tool for its paying subscribers and Perplexity also has its own paid tool.
Experimental models
As a bonus, Google is introducing some new experimental AI models in Gemini Advanced in addition to Deep Research:
- 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental: Focused on multi-step reasoning, such as project planning.
- 2.0 Pro Experimental: Designed for complex tasks.
- 1.5 Pro with Deep Research: Specifically for deep research, such as industry and competitive analysis.
