Google Cloud introduces AI agent ecosystem program

Google has introduced a new program to develop AI agents on its cloud platform.

Building AI agents will soon become easier, according to Google. The tech giant has announced a new ecosystem program called AI Agent Space that will help build those agents. The company is also going to help partners sell those self-developed agents through Google Cloud Marketplace, SiliconANGLE knows.

Companies participating in the program receive guidance from Google’s product and engineering teams, who provide advice on optimizing AI agents, for example. In addition, they have access to other technical resources and may take advantage of early access to the latest AI technologies.

The Google Cloud Marketplace is getting a new section with relevant AI solutions from partners. More than a dozen solutions will be available at launch, and hundreds of AI agents will be added in the following months.

With this program, Google will compete directly with Microsoft’s Copilot Studio. During Ignite 2024, Microsoft introduced AI agents in Copilot Studio, including the Agent Builder. Copilot Studio’s agent library contains more than 1,800 pre-built agents for common scenarios. The Google app to develop agents with code or through natural language is called Vertex AI Agent Builder.

AI Agent Space is now generally available through Google Cloud. With this announcement, Google follows other major AI players taking new steps in the evolution of AI.
