Microsoft Launches Smaller and Cheaper Variants of Both the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop. The Tablet Appears in a 12-inch Variant, While the Laptop Comes in a 13-inch Version
Microsoft Launches Entry-Level Versions of Both the Surface Laptop and Surface Pro. Both Devices Appear in a New and Slightly More Compact Format, Are Modestly Equipped, and Thus Reduce the Price a Bit. The Range of Surface Laptop and Surface Pro, Which Was Just Refreshed in January, Is Thus Expanded
Surface Pro 12-inch
First and Foremost, There’s the Surface Pro 12-inch. It Appears Alongside the Classic 13-inch Model, Which Is Not Being Updated at This Time. The Slightly Smaller Device Has a Screen with 2,196 x 1,464 Pixels and a 90 Hz Refresh Rate. You Can Magnetically Attach and Charge the Surface Pen on the Back of the Screen. So You No Longer Need a Case for That
The Keyboard Cover Is Still Present, but Is Slightly Less Advanced. It Doesn’t Stick to the Bottom Edge of the Screen for a More Pleasant Typing Experience and Lacks Haptic Feedback. It Also Doesn’t Work Wirelessly

Microsoft Launches Cheaper and Smaller Surface Pro and Surface Laptop
The Computer Itself Comes Standard with a Snapdragon X Plus and 16 GB RAM. USB-C Is Present, Also for Charging, and Thankfully There’s No Sign of the Outdated Surface Charger. Higher Configurations Are Available
The Entry-Level Model of the Surface Pro 12-inch Costs 979 Euros Including VAT. This Does Not Include a Charger (59.99 Euros Including VAT for 45 Watts) and You Also Have to Buy the Keyboard Separately. That Costs 179.99 Euros Including VAT Without, and 299.99 Euros with Pen. So Even with the Surface Pro 12-inch, It Remains Impossible to Configure a Complete Device Including Keyboard for Under 1,000 Euros
Surface Laptop 13-inch
The Surface Laptop 13-inch Is the Successor to the Surface Go 3. The Laptop Is Slightly Larger and Looks a Bit Different from That Device. Compared to the Standard Surface Laptop (13.8-inch), It’s a Bit More Compact

Under the Hood, You’ll Find a Snapdragon X Plus with 16 GB RAM. The Screen Has 1920 x 1280 Pixels. Microsoft Has Slightly Reworked the Design and Also Adjusted the Port Placement. You Get Two USB-C and One USB-A Ports, Again Without Space for the Surface Connector
The Laptop Has a Starting Price of 1,099 Euros. For That Money, You’ll Still Need to Find a Power Supply Somewhere
Both Devices Can Be Configured and Purchased Now. Shipping Will Take Place from Sometime Next Month, in June 2025
Range
Both Devices Are Interesting Additions to the Range. They Offer a Slightly More Compact and Softer Configured Alternative to the Standard Models. However, Microsoft Doesn’t Want to Go Entirely for an Entry-Level Product. If You Want to Type on a Keyboard, You’ll Need to Spend at Least 1,000 Euros for Both Computers
