Cisco is distinguishing itself in the communications industry with AI tools for improved collaboration and customer service. At the WebexOne event, the company showcased AI solutions for hybrid work and customer interactions.
Increased productivity
The newly unveiled tools include Spatial Meetings and the Ceiling Microphone Pro. Spatial Meetings creates an immersive virtual meeting space with 3D video, responding to the desire to have more physical presence during virtual meetings. In turn, the Ceiling Microphone Pro, the world’s first AI microphone, automatically adapts to the room and speaker movements.
There are also tools that focus on managing hybrid workspaces more efficiently. Workspace Designer lets you virtually set up meeting rooms to optimize video and audio quality. Smart Diagnostic helps IT administrators provide context for technical problems.
Finally, Cisco announced AI tools focused on customer interactions such as Webex AI Agent and AI Agent Studio. That conversational AI speeds up customer service because it can answer simple questions independently. Thus, customers have to wait less time and are more satisfied. Complex questions are still handled by humans.
AI is thus gaining an increasingly prominent role in our working lives. Research shows that AI is currently most widely deployed in the retail industry. Unfortunately, many companies are not quite ready for AI and have some challenges to overcome.
