Asus Launches ExpertBook P3 G2 with Older AMD Internals

Asus introduces the ExpertBook P3 G2 and opts for an older AMD chip to power this laptop.

Asus is launching a new business laptop during CES in Las Vegas. This is not unusual: all manufacturers including Dell, HP, Lenovo and MSI use the trade show to launch new devices. The majority of the newly announced computers are equipped with newly launched processors such as Intel’s Core Ultra Series 3 range or AMD’s Ryzen AI 400 series. Asus distinguishes itself by resolutely not opting for a new processor.

The new Asus ExpertBook P3 G2 is indeed available with two chips: the AMD Ryzen 7 260 or the AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS. Both chips are quite dated and still run on the Zen 4 architecture. Successor Zen 5 has been on the market since 2024, so that is a remarkable choice.

Choice

The laptop is therefore not a performance monster, but a more modest business device. Asus introduces a 14-inch and a 16-inch variant. Both devices are available with 16:9 IPS panels. You have the choice between 1,920 x 1,200 pixels or 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. RAM is configurable up to 32 GB.

Asus also highly values choice for the other specifications. For example, you can configure the laptops with 50 Wh or 70 Wh batteries. For the webcams, you can choose between HD, FHD or FHD+ with IR. We do not yet know the starting price or more details about the availability of this device.
