Hackers shop customer data at clothing brand Under Armour

The American sportswear manufacturer Under Armour may have fallen victim to a cyber attack, in which data from 70 million customers has been published.

Under Armour, a clothing brand well-known among sports enthusiasts, was reportedly visited by hackers in November. The data breach is reported by Have I Been Pwned, the free internet service that allows you to check whether your data has ever been involved in such a leak. The database is said to contain data from 72 million customers.

The group behind the Everest ransomware claims to be behind the attack. They allegedly broke into Under Armour in November. Because the clothing brand did not pay the requested ransom, the group has now also leaked the data on hacker forums.

72 million email addresses

The database contains the personal data of 72 million people who once bought something from Under Armour. It is striking that, according to Have I Been Pwned, three out of four of the 72 million email addresses had previously been leaked. In addition to email addresses, names, addresses, dates of birth and purchase details have also been leaked.

Under Armour has not yet officially responded to the incident. The criminal underworld has once again shot out of the starting blocks in 2026. In the first three weeks of the new year, the European Space Agency ESA and the Antwerp hospital AZ Monica, among others, fell prey. That list will undoubtedly have many new names.
