Fortinet introduces Secure AI Data Center, a new security framework focused on protecting AI data centers, including data, infrastructure and AI models. The solution combines a firewall with support for GPU clusters and application security, including protection against AI-specific cyber threats.

Secure AI Data Center is designed to secure every layer of an AI environment. The solution includes network segmentation, encrypted traffic inspection and protection of applications and AI models. With this, Fortinet aims to help companies prevent data breaches and malicious inputs, and comply with AI-related regulations. The focus is on real-time protection while maintaining high performance.
Central to the solution is the FortiGate 3800G: a new data center firewall that uses ASICs (NP7 and SP5) and 400 GbE connectivity. According to Fortinet, this delivers hyperscale-level firewall performance with lower energy consumption per Gbps, which should provide cost savings in data center environments.
Additionally, the solution offers protection against risks specific to AI, such as prompt injection attacks and misuse of AI models. The security is applicable in on-premises, hybrid and public cloud environments. Future considerations have also been taken into account: post-quantum cryptography and quantum key distribution are provided, with an eye on future threats linked to quantum computers.
